We have been working with Maico and his crew for over 15 years and two properties.  He was initially brought in by another trusted contractor to do a patio.  It was gorgeous so we had him re-grade and then re-do our driveway.  Beautiful...  He has since done landscaping to eliminate a severe drainage problem, interior painting, built a closet for us, re-habbed a workshop with rotting wooden panels, rebuilt a custom gate door and custom bench on our back deck.  They re-fresh/re-mulch our flower gardens every spring and clean our gutters every fall.  If he can't do it, he'll let you know. MVK did a great job rebuilding the window box in the back of my townhouse.  The wood had rotted in the original construction (due to poor sealing) from rain-soaked leaves trapped between the box and the deck.
A quote I got from another contractor was much lower, but I went with MVK because it was clear that they understood the problem and would do the work properly.  This included necessary labor to remove and reinstall several deck boards in order to access all the impacted parts of the window box (from the bottom of the windows down) and replace the entire structure, not just the bottom panel.
Rot-proof PVC boards were used, another plus, and the deck boards were put back on better than before - with screws.  Finished with a perfect paint job.
It took longer than we both expected, both due to weather and the fact that MVK is understandably busy this time of year.  In my case, time was not an issue.

He is also a great project manager – we did not have to follow up with him, he worked with various vendors, managed timelines, deliveries, and always with a smile. We used MVK Construction to finish out a basement multi-purpose room in a larger unfinished space. This included framing, drywall, painting, HVAC, electrical, and flooring. From start to finish, Maico and his team were professional and transparent. The quote we obtained for the project was very reasonable, and Maico was sure to ask many questions to ensure every detail of the build was to our liking. Throughout the project, Maico would personally provide us with updates and the timeline. His team was efficient and respectful of the fact that we were living in the other parts of the house, and on some occasions, they stayed late into the evening or came on weekends to ensure a part of the project was done perfectly. When the flooring we had chosen was not in stock at local hardware stores, Maico drove 2 hours round-trip to pick it up at a store that did have it. We've used MVK for several projects and have been very pleased.  For the first project they re-pointed some areas that had cracked on the exterior of our house.  We asked MVK to come back for a mini kitchen upgrade.  The team put drywall up on the ceiling, added pot lights, took down a cabinet & removed and added new tile backsplash. MVK relaid and regrouted our bluestone patio that is 35 years old as well as reconstructing a length of a brick retaining wall which had sunk over the years. They also removed and replaced some brick on our patio wall. They did an excellent job with these repairs all items looking like new. We were so pleased with their work that we have agreed to have them do some drainage, regrading and seeding work.
